Roman Numbers

Post by serge_girard »

Hi there,

I have a function, copied from ?, can't remember from where...
Author is
Richard A. Pulliam Copyright (c) 1996, Richard A. Pulliam
Function: ROMANNUM()
Regretfully it contains some errors and therefore I ask you I some of you have an error-free function for converting roman numers to arabic numerics and vica-versa.
My version has this error:

Code: Select all

MMMDCCCXCVII 3897
MMMDCCCXCVIII 3898
MMMDCCCXCIX 3899
MMMCM 4100
MMMCMI 4101
MMMCMII 4102
MMMCMIII 4103
As you can see 3899 skips to 4100...

As I don't want to reinvent the wheel and the function is rather complex....

Serge
