BROWSE AND QUICK SEARCH

Post by mol »

I'm looking for the way to realize quick search function in browse or grid.

It should be easy to do this, by adding to browse or grid OnKeyPressed event with code of pressed key passed as parameter.

If operator press navigation keys, browse interprets it the same, but, if it's pressed antoher key (A, B or 1,2,3... etc.) pressed key should be passed as parameter to OnKeyPressed event..

How do you think?
Is it possible to achieve?

Best regards, Marek

BROWSE AND QUICK SEARCH

Post by Pablo César »

Very nice examples Mr. Esgici. I have seem SFilBox also very good.

I do not know if your will find any example of keyboards events inside of browse control. I think all functionality in Gird/Browse in HMG is completly different than we have used like us in console mode or in Clipper. In MiniGui there are two favorites of mine in:

C:\MiniGUI\SAMPLES\BASIC\FastFind
C:\MiniGUI\SAMPLES\Advanced\MiniAgenda

Hi Esgici!
Many thanks for this sample! I know it from the years and I'm using this way of incremental searching, but, a little modified.

But, In my intensions was to still get focus on grid or browse without moving to "Search Box"

Hola Claudio

Interesting :?

Here ( HMG 3.0.40 ) there isn't any problem

Please check size of .zip file, must be 7.152 bytes; may be corrupted while downloading.

If size is correct, probably you have upgrade to HMG 3.0.40 (2011-11-13) ;)

No need copying entire folder :!:

Everything explained in C:/hmg/hfcl/Doc/index.htm.
ReadMe file of MiniAgenda wrote:
Notes :

- Mini Agenda use HFCL library
And MiniAgenda.hbc file have the line :

incpaths=C:\hmg\hfcl\Include\

After changing C:\hmg to your hmg path, you will compile either via HMG-IDE or build.bat with no problem.

Build.bat will be like :

call c:\hmg\build.bat MAgenda

That's all 8-)

PS: There is another simple way:

If you no need PRINT your grid, change ( line 487, 488 ) MAgenda.prg

Code: Select all

   CASE cFOper == 'P'        // File\Print
         PRINT GRID grdMAgenda OF frmMiniAgenda SHOWWINDOW
to

Code: Select all

   CASE cFOper == 'P'        // File\Print
         * PRINT GRID grdMAgenda OF frmMiniAgenda SHOWWINDOW
Saludos
