Help Getting Started ....

Hello Everyone,,,

I'm brand new to the forum. I'm also brand new to HMG ...

I'm not brand new to Clipper,, I go back to the beginning...

I have a lot of Clipper applications in use for my customers.

Some of them have been running everyday in big companies for over 23 years !

They are running at factories in China, Mexico, and the US right now as I type !

So,, my first job is not to invent new programs, rather to help some of my existing software survive.

I need a lot of patients from some of you ! I will appear rather "dumb" for a long time until I get my hands around
what I'm doing.

So,, my first big question for the board is;; What do I download to have HMG ? I found a place called hmgforum.com/site ....

I went there,, It had something about "HFCL 3/4" Then another tab "HMG releases 1/17" ???

There was no kind of explanation as to what to do that I could find ???

Then,, on the revived "Clipper... Clipper... Clipper" forum there was a "Merry Christmas" edition of somekind of update called HMG.Extended ?????

At first I thought it was the latest update ! ??? Please tell me,, What is that !! ???

I'm sure the compiler will be much more simple if I can figure out what to do to get it !

Thanks in advance,,
Bill

Hi Bill

Welcome aboard; regards from Turkiye :)

You are right, HMG have some confusing points about its versions for beginners :(

Latest stable version of HMG is 3.0.35 and you can download it here.

You can reach this info by : Board index > HMG News and Updates pages of forum.

HMG 4 is a new era for HMG and it's development stage yet.

HFCL is a "user compenent library" and you can use it a little of advanced level.

My humble opinion is: begin with version 3.0.35.

Happy HMG'ing :D

Regards
