how to publish software

Hello everyone,
I need your help to successfully compile the legal notice to be attached to software that I wish to publish.
The material will be placed on my website. I set also a link in the project section of this forum to download.

1) the user will not pay anything for the use and download
2) the software will be distributed in source format (executable will provide on request)
3) the published version (my version) will be covered by copyright
4) I would like to protect against data loss
5) I would like to enter the legal notice of Harbour and HarbourMinigui

what and how I can do

IMHO, there are many licensing methods available like GPL (General Public License), LGPL, BSD etc., You please read them and adopt a license suitable for your requirements.

I think a GPL along with a disclaimer for data loss might be enough.

the published version (my version) will be covered by copyright

...and this might be a separate process I think.
