Here's not checked gossip:
"sites from Google has a major drawback: it is based on the creator only and dont let you insert your own HTML code."
Many things should be taken into account:
1) unwanted banners (60-70% of 'free' cities)
2) 'free' address?
3) monthly transfer
4) disk space
5) php+mysql support, count of MySQL bases
6) ruby
7) ASP
...
and counting.
Searching for something suitable for my needs, I've spotted 2 worth my attention:
1) 000webhost.com
2) xtreemhost.com
My choice fell on the second. I was quite happy keeeping this site for my own experiments, alas after 3 month site was cancelled, because of... less than 5 visitors.
I think with the liitle help from here you can easily overcome this restriction
