OT - monitorear intranet

Me pasa muy seguido que mis clientes presentan problemas de conectividad en sus redes, pueden ser problemas de cableado, problemas en tarjeta de red o problemas en los switch. Cuando esto ocurre, como ustedes bien saben, alguna pc de la red puede dejar bloqueado alguna tabla o registro y todo el sistema se ralentiza o cuelga.

He estado buscando en internet software que me ayude a identificar y corregir estos problemas de conectividad. He encontrado algunas soluciones pero me parecen demasiado complejas ya que abarcan aspectos más complejos de toda la arquitectura de la red (no solo intranet sino también extranet e internet).

Alguien me podría recomendar una aplicación, de preferencia gratuita, que pueda mapear la red LOCAL y detectar los problemas de conectividad. Yo por lo general lo único que puedo hacer es realizar un PING de una pc a otra, pero esto no es para nada práctico ya que a veces los problemas de conectividad son intermitentes. He descargado un software llamado Paessler PRTG, pero voy a tener que verme un tutorial completo para aprender su funcionamiento.

It happens to me very often that my clients have connectivity problems on their networks, they can be wiring problems, network card problems or switch problems. When this happens, as you well know, some PC on the network may leave a table or registry locked and the entire system slows down or hangs.

I have been searching the internet for software to help me identify and correct these connectivity problems. I have found some solutions but they seem too complex to me since they cover more complex aspects of the entire network architecture (not only intranet but also extranet and internet).

Could someone recommend an application, preferably free, that can map the LOCAL network and detect connectivity problems. Generally the only thing I can do is PING from one PC to another, but this is not practical at all since sometimes the connectivity problems are intermittent. I have downloaded a software called Paessler PRTG, but I will have to watch a complete tutorial to learn how it works.
