hi,

i notice when use

SET FILTER TO !DELETED()

it does slow down BROWSE extrem

can someone confirm it or what do i miss

to "transfer" Record into Array is a Option but i´m not sure if !DELETED() will make a Difference.

i normal use !DELETED() in Index, while have to lot of DELETE in a Day Work which slow down.
but under HMG there is a big Difference when use !DELETED() in FILTER which i have not seen before.

while "phpBB Forum Reader" is "read only" there are no DELETED() Record and i have remove it from FILTER

now i have learn that !DELETED() is not a Option for HMG

when read that Thread where you point to i got a Idea / Question :
it it possible to build a Tree this Way

i do have Index

STRZERO(TOPICNO,5)+DTOS(TDATE)+TTIME

from all with same TOPICNO i want Tree-Node
but TOPICNO can be > 42000 ...

while i can "see" only Part of hole Tree the Idea is to "fill" it "dynamic" ...

1. set filter to !deleted() is SET DELETED ON , this command hide deleted records

this is right

but Index "does not know" deleted() so IHMO they are in Index
they will be "skipped" when use SET DELETED ON

when have !DELETED() in Index you will not "skip" Record which can be a lot during a Day
i do use these Technic when "edit" a Record to have a "Backup" of "old Data"

it is a different Idea

i have use that Index Expression for "DUPECHECK" but when got "new" Message to "old" Thread i do not "see" it
i have to change Index TAG, by click on Column Header, and use TAG "MSGDATE" which does not include STRZERO(TOPICNO,5)

now the Idea / Question was to build a TREE to display NODE of TOPICNO ...
or use Listview-Group like Outlook instead of BROWSE

but it must be "dynamic" while add "one-by-one" take too much Time

is there any Sample which "dynamic" build what i can "see" on Screen
