I was concerned about GitHub with having not an "hosting for installers" but seems now from July 2nd they yes have it !

Because, I consider as one of most important item for success of HMG regarding for new programmers acceptance, is that HMG has it installer with its tipical structure installation. It means HMG is so good for old Clipper's programmers have taking knowledge of HMG by the simple installation and the own demands as core and accessories (Harbour, libraries, source code, IDE, MinGW compiler, samples and also for source codes editor).

I said all of this, based on my own experience. Many colleagues find more simplicity and quality in HMG to migrate your programs in Clipper.

I would not like seeing forced to use only one manager application that has to be installed to install new HMG releases. For some people it is difficult or discouraging say. But having it as another option and rely on the installer as usual, makes me loose my concerns as a user and as a promoter of HMG.

On the other hand, would like to see some form of facilitating the contribution we make to any manager that allows the team responsible (Roberto / Rathinagiri / Claudio Soto and granting users) approve or disapprove the changes would be effective for the next version release.

Probably the main reason is:

space occupied in bytes = $

Keeping all old versions take space in hosted server and this could takes money to keep with the forum... doesn't it ?

IMO our current situation ( choosing and deciding to a SVN server ) isn't related to money at all.

And all functionality of a SVN server isn't only keeping old versions.

Every programmer knows : a software product never ends, simply become usable at anywhere. At this point a problem is waiting the programmer(s) : version control ! This isn't simply saving each version, difficulty is tracking updates made, offering some facilities like upload, download, roll-back etc.

When project is a team product, necessities will increases geometrically.

And worst news is : after an ( unexpected ) time, needed affairs exceeds the strength of a single person

In other hand, nobody can dedicate his / her ALL time to the community; everybody has own personal needs and responsibilities; such as home support.

At this point we should to express our appreciation to our Mr. Diamond, Sri Rathinagiri; not only to meet the costs of the forum, to spend for us a more valuable thing: time

question was not for getting "no" answer; instead, for an answer begin like "yes, because..." and continues to explain "why we need such thing ?".

As result, I had to write it with this broken english
