My intention was not 'defend' to hmgscript, but find its flaws, find the reasons because it not took off.
I guess that simply, hmgscript is not easy to use enough to catch the programmers attention...
IMHO, project has not any "flaw", not finished for now, that's all.
Reason of lack of attention isn't weakness of project, but our weakness to understand its importance.
Possibly we haven't enough knowledge base about remote networking.
I guess the era of single machine - single user applications is almost end; and now most of xBase programmer are writing applications for LAN.
Migration from LAN to remote network seems a little difficult. Because difference isn't only about "wire" ( does this network is wired or wireless?); the "server" concept seems a bit scary to us.
For example, before network server, still I can not get used to "file server". Yes, basically these two are the same; but I'm talking about database servers such as SQLServer, PostGr... MySql ... etc.
I'm thinking like this : "I'm capable to define, design and manage all data systematic needs of my project. So, why I have use this or that database server ?"
Moreover I'm afraid too: "How I can keep open all data of my customer to everyone?"
Furthermore "How I can keep open my code to everyone?"
Surely, the answer is clear : "like everyone keep ..."
And surely, does "open" is really "open" ?
And most importantly, programmers who want keep himself live at tomorrow must overcome that problems.
The most important thing: I'm 50 years old too and I not consider myself as 'old'... maybe in a couple of years

Definitely you are old, in comparison with my first child; she is 46
So you will wait a bit to me to consider you are old"
With my best regards
