HMG Extended has a better development pace, and Harbour has a better forum/community.
+1

Merging HMG and HMG Extended is probably the best solution. What are the objections?

It's question for milion dollars

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/407 ... -compilers <- one of more answer???
One HUGE difference is that Borland focuses on Windows system only (at least when I was using it) and as such it has a lot of really nice custom Windows specific commands and libraries. GCC is sooo much more generic that it can take lot more work to do the same things that Borland can do w/o much fuss.

It can't be hybride or let you choose MinGW or Borland?
Can't be that hard!

We had this (HMG+MiniGUI) discussion earlier too and had same conclusion.
But it depends heavily on Rathinagiri Sir and Grigory Sir now to decide.

The main difference is not that (the C compiler).
HMG Extended has a MINGW version.
If you donate some money to Mr Flilatov, he sends you the link for that version.
The main difference is the marvellous TSBROWSE, missing in HMG, and all the UNICODE work by Claudio missing in HMGE.
Let's admit it. If we want an actively supported tool, we have to pay some money from time to time.
Neither Harbour nor HMG have a big Foundation supporting them. And developpers need money to make a living.
Just my thinking...

I agree, nothing comes for free in the end.

We need to raise some crowfunding but with so few members....

We also need the opinions of Mr. Rathinagiri, Mr. Grigory and Mr. Lopez !!!

We must do something!

Time for action

I take this opportunity to mention one more difference. The huge, I mean most extensive, sample codes in MiniGUI. There is a sample code for each and every features of MiniGUI.

I came to HMG after Clipper and then FoxPro closed. I had clients with DBF data and they were demanding windows application. I used both HMG and MiniGUI. Since the syntax from Clipper/Foxpro for windows code is quite different, I had to look around to find 'how to code this activity'. MiniGUI helped me at every steps. Just searching in prgs of samples folder gave me solution/hint of the same.

I was able to make windows application for my clients. I earned from it and justified donating to Grigory to continue developing MiniGUI for us.
