hi,

my Name is Jimmy and i'm a xBase User.

i start 1985 with dBase ][ on Apple ][ under CP/M.
later most Apps i wrote with Clipper / Blinker / Sixdrive and some i have migrate into GUI using Xbase++

my first Contact with harbour was 2009 when i got a activeX Calender Sample from Pritpal Bedi.
not sure if here still was Xbase++ User at that time but he work with harbour and wrote his own LIB (GTWVG)

i realize that Speed of harbour ActiveX was much better than Xbase++ so i have use harbour when Speed is need.
Speed ist now my Problem with PostgreSQL and i found some Sample in HMG.

i will open a new Thread and have some Question about harbour / HMG / PostgreSQL

Hello Jimmy,

Looks like we have similar past :)
Started with dBASE III, FoxBase and then to FoxPro, Clipper and Xbase++, HMG now. I mostly develop in Xbase++ for our company, but use HMG MiniGUI Ex for personal development.

HMG is very very fast comparatively, but I have this habit of Xbase++ which I use with TopDown, by Late Clayton Jones.

Regards,

Anand

A kind welcome form Rosenheim, Bavaria. I am not a professional programmer, but until XP I could write some helpful, yet bumpily programmed apps (with dBase) for my company. Then, with win7 I even dad access to xbase++, but I only used it in textual way. My skills are too poor for xbase++-GUI Then I found this forum and with the help of a lot of the members here, now I'm able to develop GUI-apps. Before retiring I left my mates a useful app (completely functioning) but I am still working on it to code some expansions, or to improve my bumpy code.People here are very friendly and helpful.
Regards
Robert
